About Iteration Layer
Bootstrapped, EU-hosted composable API platform for document parsing, image transformation, and content rendering — built by a solo founder.
Our story
Iteration Layer grew out of an Amazon KDP publishing business. To run it efficiently, we built a whole suite of internal tools — image generation for book covers, document generation for manuscript exports, image transformation for social media assets, and pipelines that chained them together to automate entire workflows.
Over time, two things became clear: these tools were genuinely useful beyond our own projects, and the composable pipeline pattern — where each API's output feeds into the next — applied surprisingly well to completely different use cases. A pipeline that generates a book cover isn't that different from one that processes product images for an e-commerce store. So we turned the internal tooling into a public API platform.
Our values
Iteration Layer is bootstrapped and staying that way. No VC funding, no growth-at-all-costs pressure, no surveillance analytics, no data sold to third parties. Every decision is driven by what provides the best value to developers, not what looks good on a pitch deck.
Our mission
Build composable, developer-friendly content processing APIs that chain together into full workflows. Parse a document, transform the output, render the result — one pipeline, one API call. Everything runs on EU infrastructure (Hetzner, Germany), processed under GDPR with full transparency. No surprises in the pricing, no surprises in the data handling.
